Job Description
OSSTF-Education Workers 0.5 Temporary Attendance Counsellor Reporting to the Mental Health Lead, this position will actively monitor student attendance in North Bay and surrounding area schools.
Effective Immediately
Location North Region: North Bay and Surrounding Communities including Sturgeon Falls and Mattawa
Qualifications
3 year Community College Diploma and/or University Degree as a Social Worker and/or Social Service Worker or equivalent
Knowledge/Skills Required
Conversant with pertinent acts and regulations which impact on the role of the Attendance Counsellor
Capable of interpreting laws, policies and procedures as it relates to student attendance
Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective problem solving and analytical skills with respect to resolving attendance conflicts
Ability to act as a liaison between community agencies, home, and the school
