2 PhD positions in cosmology at Bielefeld University, Germany

I currently have two open PhD positions, with a starting date as early as April 2026, with the potential to be filled later e.g. from September/October 2026.

1. PhD position focused on theoretical cosmology: The PhD project is part of the Collaborative Research Center CRC-TRR 211 “Strong-Interaction Matter under Extreme Conditions”. As a CRC member, you will work on the theoretical developments to determine the QCD imprint on the primordial black hole production. You will work on new techniques to enable calculations beyond a constant collapse threshold, thereby accounting for the cosmic trajectory in the early universe and making predictions for merger rates that can be confronted with astrophysical observations.
