2026 Summer Student – Caretaking/Maintenance

Age: 16 years of age or older and registered to return to secondary or post-secondary studies in September 2026.

Application Deadline: March 10, 2026

We are now accepting applications for the 2026 Summer Student Caretaker positions. College/University students could start as early as May 2026 and High School students could start as early as July 2026.

York Region District School Board caretakers provide well-maintained, clean and safe environments in all of our schools and administrative locations. Within our Board, the profession of caretaking encompasses not only the cleaning of our facilities, but mechanical checks and minor maintenance of boilers, air handling units, building automation systems, building hardware, chillers and fire systems.
