3rd Class Power Engineer

Job Summary Reporting to the Central Plant Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Key Responsibilities

Efficient operation of boilers and chillers (including biofuel system at the Truro location) for maximum performance

Provides ongoing monitoring of Thermal Plant systems and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency (e.g., boilers, chillers, diesel generator, electrical transformer, controls, etc.)

Performs maintenance on Thermal Plant systems and equipment to ensure continuous operation

Maintains a clean work environment in the thermal plant

Performs other maintenance tasks as required

Responds appropriately to critical alarms by investigating and analyzing upset conditions to identify and correct problems or request assistance

Performs all duties in accordance with the current Nova Scotia Occupational Health & Safety Act, as well as University and Government rules and ...
