VACANCY: ACCOUNTANT

The successful applicant will report to the Group Senior Accountant.

Job Description

• Perform daily and monthly financial processing
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
• Bookkeeping up to Trial Balance
• Calculate VAT payable/refundable and submit VAT returns to SARS
• Perform VAT reconciliations
• Review debtors and creditors reconciliations
• Complete balance sheet account reconciliations
• Analyse financial records and transactions
• Monitor and supervise clerical accounting staff
• Provide support and training to administrative employees, assisting with queries and daily operational matters
• Assist external auditors with year-end queries
• Bill expenses across group entities
• Prepare journal entries (daily, ad hoc, and month-end) and support the month-end close process
