Accounting Assistant - (Inventory)

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct and participate in physical inventory counts, cycle counts and surprise accounts across warehouses, depots, and affiliated locations.
• Ensure proper cut-off procedures for inventory movements during physical counts.
• Validate inventory quantities, locations, and conditions against system records.
• Perform regular reconciliation of physical inventory in the accounting system.
• Investigate inventory variances, shortages, overages, and discrepancies and prepare variance analysis report.
• Prepare and recommend inventory adjustments, write-offs and reclassification subject to management approval.
• Monitor inventory aging, slow moving, obsolete and damaged stocks and coordinate with management for appropriate accounting treatment.
