The advanced practice provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) within the acute care hospital setting works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP provides comprehensive care on t he Observation service which is an extension of the Emergency Department

Job/Practice Description

• Busy Academic Medical Center
• Patient population- adults on the service treated for a variety of conditions with an estimated 24 hour stay.
• Specific duties include admissions, rounding, responding to changes in clinical condition of patients, coordination with consultants, organizing discharges.
• Nights only, 12 hour shifts, 7p-7a
• Call, holidays
• Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant
• Certification required (ACLS, state license, DEA License) NPs must carry an Acute Care Certification
