About the role

Allied Support Workers work under the direction and oversight of qualified Social Workers and supervisors, contributing to positive outcomes for tamariki, rangatahi and whānau by enabling Social Workers to focus on statutory requirements and professional practice. The role is non-regulated and does not undertake social work activities or have a case load. Support includes home visits, administration tasks, transporting tamariki and rangatahi, and assisting with Family Group Conferences.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

• Provide on‑demand support across a site based on team needs.
• Assist social workers in entering case notes and other information into the case management system CYRAS and other information systems.
• Safely transport tamariki and rangatahi for appointments, school, and sports.
• Help set up and perform administrative tasks for Family Group Conferences.
