Island health has an opportunity for a full-time Anesthesiologist to join their team at the Comox Valley Hospital.

The Comox Valley Hospital is a new bed community hospital with state of the art facilities. There are 6 OR’s with 5 operationalized and 1 reserved for emergency caesarean sections.

Anesthesiologists provide services for Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, and Orthopaedics. In addition, anesthesiologists provide anesthesia for ECT and Cardioversion and assist with emergency intubations in the ER and ICU.

Comox Anesthesiologists also run a consultation clinic and an out of OR position designated as Rover.

Weekday call starts at and ends at with mandatory on site coverage till then home call after that. Pre-call and post call are off. Weekend and stats are 24 hour call to with mandatory on site coverage from to .
