Anesthesiologist (Comox)

Island Health has an opportunity for a full‑time Anesthesiologist to join their team at the Comox Valley Hospital.

The Comox Valley Hospital is a new 150‑bed community hospital with state‑of‑the‑art facilities. There are 6 operating rooms with 5 operationalized and 1 reserved for emergency caesarean sections.

Anesthesiologists provide services for Obstetrics & Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, and Orthopaedics. In addition, anesthesiologists provide anesthesia for ECT and cardioversion and assist with emergency intubations in the ER and ICU.

Comox Anesthesiologists also run a consultation clinic and an out‑of‑OR position designated as Rover.

Weekday call starts at 1500 and ends at 0800 with mandatory on‑site coverage until 2000, then home call after that. Pre‑call and post‑call are off. Weekend and stats are 24‑hour call 0800 to 0800 with mandatory on‑site coverage from 0800 to 1200.
