Principal Policy Advisor – Policy Puni

Full‑time, permanent role based in Te Tari Matua / National Office in Pōneke, Wellington. This position supports the embedding of Te Tautuhi ō Rongo and other Māori frameworks within Te Puni Kōkiri and the wider public service. The appointment will be to lead and deliver high‑quality, future‑focused policy advice across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex policy analysis, development and implementation projects.
• Apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Tautuhi ō Rongo, UNDRIP, EMRIP, and other te ao Māori frameworks in all work.
• Represent Te Puni Kōkiri in key forums and engage with stakeholders to influence meaningful change.
• Coordinate and lead inter‑departmental policy initiatives, including the annual Section 8i Report and other priority policy areas.
