Comcare has 1 x 6 month and 1 x 12 month non-ongoing vacancy available for APS 6 Legal Advisers in the Regulatory Legal team, in Melbourne. Full-time / Part-time (Part-time employment will be considered based on the operational requirements)

Overview of the Team

The Regulatory Legal team provides advice and support to Comcare’s regulatory activities, including investigations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and criminal prosecutions for alleged offences against the WHS Act. 

The team supports the Regulatory Operations Group by:

• Providing advice and guidance on evidence gathering, the issuing of statutory notices and investigation procedures (investigations).
• Reviewing and advising on briefs of evidence (prosecutions).
• Working closely with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions and the informant when a prosecution is commenced.
