Job Description
The Registered Nurse - ASC OR/ARD is responsible for professional nursing care of the surgical or endoscopic patient and to achieve total patient centered care through use of the nursing process.
Job Relationships
Reports to the Nurse Manager-Operative Services
Principal Responsibilities
Nurses will be cross-trained to work other areas in the facility utilizing those nursing skills and techniques necessary to meet the patients' needs and provide quality care. Annual competencies for specific working area must be completed within designated month.
ADMISSION - Greet patient and instruct in changing into appropriate attire. Complete pre-operative assessment, document on appropriate chart forms and administer pre-op orders (i.e. medications, IV's). Provide pre-operative teaching to patients and significant others.
