Assistant Mechanic

Job descriptionExamine units or equipment and determine the nature and extent of damage or malfunction.Plan work procedure using charts, technical manuals, and experience.Determine what parts are necessary for repair, requisitioning parts accordingly.Lubricate moving parts and drive or test vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.Perform maintenance on all forklifts and other motorized equipment in and around the port.Change oil, check batteries, repair tires and tubes, and lubricate equipment and machinery.Examine protective guards, nuts and bolts, and specified safety devices, making adjustments as required.Job RequirementsCandidate must possess at least a related Vocational Diploma/ Short Course Certificate.Must have knowledge of forklift, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, brake and other automotive systems necessary.Must have knowledge of mechanical systems including drive units, internal combustion engines, telescopic masts, reach mechanisms, steering systems.Prefera...
