Responsibilities Inspections on the raw materials batching system, pre-heater feeding and furnace floors. Ensuring that the furnace is properly loaded. Conducting inspections on all floors of the furnace building. Assist with electrode paste loading, monitoring paste temperatures and replacing thermocouples when necessary. Assist to operate the furnace in accordance with established procedures and work instructions. Ensuring good housekeeping in the area of responsibility. Operating the computerized loading system for feeding raw material into the furnace. Adhering to all HSECQ requirements to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Qualifications Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification. Basic metallurgy and smelting knowledge. Basic furnace and electrode operation understanding.
