Assistant Physicist

The Accelerator Systems Division of the Advanced Photon Source (APS) at Argonne National Laboratory invites applications for a staff Assistant Physicist position in the Accelerator Operations and Physics (AOP) Group.

The successful candidate will:

+ Play a significant role in maintaining the high-reliability operation of the APS storage ring.
+ Perform general accelerator physics activities, including independently conducting machine studies to diagnose and resolve operational issues.
+ Support APS performance improvements by conducting accelerator experiments, processing and analyzing data, and performing simulations and/or theoretical studies.
+ Maintain positive and effective working relationships with APS technical staff through active communication and collaboration.
+ Participate in research and development activities for future accelerator facilities.
