Associate Merchandise Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

Assists the merchandise manager in planning and deciding on the merchandise to sell in a season, has a budget, and manages the stocks of a specific buying group in order to maximize sales and increase profit. The position reports directly to the merchandise manager.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

ORDERING

1. Prepares a budget for approval by the merchandise manager.

2. Proposes and submits for Merchandise Manager approval lines to run in a season based on the agreed budget, trends, and sales histories.

3. Prepares strategies to meet targets.

4. Plans for promotions/special offers.

5. Coordinates with Marketing for in-store ticketing, promotions, and ads

6. Coordinates with Visual Merchandising for store layouts and features.

7. Coordinates with stores and corporate accounts on special bulk orders.
