Job Description

Job Title: Beam Pumping Unit Automation Engineer
Reports to: JDL or PSD Manager

Purpose of the Job:

The Automation Engineer shall be responsible for VSD installation, configuration, commissioning, well start-up, and performance optimization for beam pumping units.

Dimensions:

Key responsibilities:
Install, configure, and commission VSDs for beam pumping units.

Perform full well start-up including energization, motor rotation checks, torque verification, and SPM optimization.

Configure motor parameters, protections, alarms, and fault logging.

Integrate load cells, rod rotators, and field instrumentation.

Interface VSDs with SCADA / RTU / PLC systems.

Analyze torque and dynamometer cards for troubleshooting and optimization.

Support PM and CM activities requiring automation involvement.

Prepare start-up reports, backups, ...
