Backend Engineer - Communication Platform

<p><strong>About the team:</strong></p>
<p>The Communications Squad is responsible for powering all self-service communications across SumUp—including SMS, email, push notifications, and WhatsApp. Today, we deliver around one billion messages every year, and we have bold plans to significantly increase both the scale and sophistication of our messaging in the years ahead. Alongside messaging, we also work on user-facing capabilities such as promotions and personalized recommendations.</p>
<p>As part of the Platform Tribe, we are one of several squads building and owning the systems that enable product teams across SumUp to move faster. This means we design for two audiences at once: our internal teams who depend on our platform, and the millions of merchants they serve.</p>
