B&G - Head Custodian - DE 2025/26

There is an immediate opening for a Head Custodian at Durand Eastman Intermediate School. This is a competitive Civil Service position. This is a 12-month, 8-hour per day position, working 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

Job responsibilities are but not limited to the following:


+ Supervises and schedules the work of subordinates;

+ Conducts inspections of cleaning activities to ensure they are performed according to regulations;

+ Maintains an inventory of supplies and orders as needed

+ Assists with maintenance and custodial work as necessary. This includes creating and updating work orders in Master Library;

+ Ensures basic security of buildings (ex. windows, doors, roof hatches are secure);

+ Conducts monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and roof drains;

+ Conducts daily routine inspections (ex. takes readings) of areas/equipment such as fan rooms, boilers, walk-in coolers/freezers
