1. Biocontainment Engineering Oversight

• Oversee engineering systems for ABSL3 and BSL-2 laboratories , including:

  • HVAC systems (from chiller performance to pressure cascades within containment facilities)

  • Effluent Decontamination System (EDS)

  • Autoclaves, digesters, and pass-through systems

  • Laboratory gas and water systems

• Ensure engineering compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including:

  • Singapore MOH BATA

  • SS 636

  • Workplace Safety and Health (WSH)

  • Building and Construction Authority (BCA)

  • Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF)

• Collaborate closely with the Biosafety Manager to ensure engineering controls meet biocontainment and safety requirements.
