Biosensor R&D Engineer – UNSW School of Biomedical Engineering

The Opportunity:
The School of Biomedical Engineering has a long history in, and is internationally recognised for, successfully developing integrated circuits for medical and scientific applications. The Biosensor R&D Engineer works with a team of academics, engineers (including industry collaborators), and postgraduate students, on research, development and testing of implantable electronics for biosensing.  

The project is part of an ongoing multi-national R&D programme aiming to develop next-gen, implantable bioelectronics. This role will contribute towards our efforts in creating biosensors for measuring vital health parameters in vivo, such as concentrations of glucose, lactate and various ions. These chemical biosensors are intended to be functionalized on implants, to perform long-term, clinically reliable measurements.
