THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Reporting to the Blast Supervisor, the Blast Technician is responsible for checking the quality of drilling services provided and assisting Shotfirer’s to deliver quality blasting to the open pit mining teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist shotfirers in on bench activities, Blasthole QA/QC, Delineate, Priming, Loading, Stemming, off-siding MMU’s and tie-in as directed.
• Check drilling activities are completed correctly and identify issues of poor-quality drilling early to ensure redrills are completed.
• Perform blast guard duties just prior to blasting activity to ensure the safety of all personnel, and that they are removed from the area...
