Job Description
- Identify the correct product application
- Manage blasting crew at the working area
- Identify Hazards and complete necessary documentation
- Complete blast reports
- Work with mine personnel on safety and quality issues
- Attend meetings when necessary
- Oversee charging of holes and blasting of blocks
- Draw explosive from magazine
- Transport explosives to blasting area
- Measure and prime holes
- Supervise blasting team closing holes
- Tie up of blast
- Placing of guards for blasting
Inspection of blasted area
Grade 12 (Must)
- National Rock Breaking Certificate for Opencast (Must)
- Daveytronics knowledge in opencast mining (Advantage)
- Code 8 or 10 driver's license (must)
- 1 - 3 years' experience of opencast blasting
