The Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society (WRS) is a long-standing and vital member of the local non-profit sector, providing essential services to individuals and families experiencing vulnerability due to low or no income. While many programs are designed to support women and address the systemic barriers they face, the majority of WRS services are inclusive and accessible to people of all genders. Men regularly access critical supports such as the Outreach Store and the Community Law program.

WRS delivers a comprehensive continuum of services, including a food bank, family and poverty law assistance, transition housing for women and children fleeing domestic violence, health services, and a range of wraparound supports that respond to complex and evolving community needs.

In 2025 alone, thousands of individuals accessed programs and services through the Women’s Resource Society. For many, WRS represents a last point of access to safety, stability, and advocacy. Th...
