Board Treasurer

The Hope in Shadows Society (Megaphone) is seeking a Board Treasurer to help steward the financial health of our organization. This is a volunteer role on our governance Board of Directors, as the day-to-day financial management is overseen by the Executive Director. This role is ideal for a professional who wants to put their financial expertise to work in service of a grassroots, community-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Executive Director on financial planning and decision‑making

Review and present financial statements and budgets at board meetings and the AGM

Ensure the organization maintains appropriate financial controls and complies with

Liaise with the external bookkeeper or accountant, as needed

Skills & Qualifications

Background in accounting, financial management, or a related field (CPA designation an asset but not required), or equivalent experience (past Treasurer role)
