PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To safely mark off, cut, fabricate/assemble, weld and maintain metal components.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12/STD 10/ NQF Level Equivalent is essential
• Boilermaker Serviceman Certificate is essential
• Minimum of 3 years working experience as an Engineering Assistant is essential
• Valid Medical certificate or medically fit to obtain such a certificate

COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge with pertaining to basic health and safety principles
• Perform basic fire fighting
• Perform basic first aid
• Draw and interpret simple engineering drawings
• Read, interpret and produce basic engineering drawings

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Mark off basic regular engineering shapes.
