Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk

The Bookkeeper / Check Preparation and Releasing Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring proper preparation, documentation, and controlled release of company checks. The role combines bookkeeping duties with strict compliance to internal controls related to disbursements, ensuring accuracy, authorization, and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping Functions:

• Record daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, collections, and payments
• Maintain and update general ledger accounts
• Prepare journal entries and ensure proper account classification
• Reconcile bank accounts, cash, and check registers on a regular basis
• Maintain complete, accurate, and organized accounting records and supporting documents
• Assist in month-end closing activities and preparation of basic financial reports
