Summary This position is a Supervisory Aviation Management Specialist Branch Chief, Pilot Operations (Aerial Supervision), GW-2101-14 assigned to the Headquarters (HQ) Aviation: Flight Operations organization for the US Wildland Fire Service. Responsibilities As a Supervisory Aviation Management Specialist Branch Chief, Pilot Operations (Aerial Supervision), your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Performs the full range of first-line supervisory responsibilities for wildland firefighting and aviation personnel of which the base level of work supervised is GW-12 or GW-13. Manages the national pilot operations program for aerial supervision, including pilot hiring, standards, evaluation, and recurrency. Serves as a technical authority in aerial supervision and pilot operations, providing recommendations to senior leadership regarding pilot workforce structure, readiness, and fleet modernization.
