Buyer/Planner II

Responsibilities

• Analyze Material Requirements Planning (MRP) / Advanced Planning Scheduling (APS) and procurement of direct and indirect materials for new products.
• Support new product introductions by securing material for pilot runs.
• Analyze MRP system and determine orders to be placed with suppliers according to schedule.
• Ensure material availability to meet production schedules.
• Elevate issues to Senior Commodity Buyer and Planner as applicable.
• Maintain direct communication with suppliers and monitor material deliveries.
• Investigate potential delays and quality issues; identify alternative approved plans and elevate when any sourced item will not arrive on time to support the schedule.
• Manage inventory levels to meet inventory goals; develop strategies to increase inventory turns and align according to production rate.
