Job Description

Widener University is currently seeking a full-time, third-shift Campus Safety Sergeant. This position averages 40 hours per week, working 10-hour shifts from 11:00 PM to 9:00 AM, and primarily operates outdoors. Reporting to the on-duty Lieutenant, the Sergeant will lead a team of Campus Safety Officers and provide essential support, oversight, and direction. The role also includes primary supervision of all personnel assigned to the shift, including van and shuttle drivers, as well as student employees within the Office of Campus Safety.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):


Essential duties:

  • Serve as a designated Campus Security Authority (CSA) in accordance with the requirements of the Clery Act.

  • Manage supervisory sector and the officers assigned to that area(s) providing guidance, direction, and support.

  • Supervise the response for any calls for service and incidents that occur.
