Capital Equipment Buyer - Automotive

Duties

• Implement regional indirect procurement contracts within the assigned plant and manage all indirect purchases not covered by regional agreements.
• Oversee commercial activities—including negotiation and implementation—related to engineering changes impacting serial production parts after Phase 5 sign‑off.
• Support Category Management in executing Commodity strategies and productivity initiatives.
• Manage supplier performance in coordination with the Commodity Manager, focusing on quality, cost, and delivery.
• Provide procurement input for the plant’s Supplier Scorecard.
• Serve as the plant’s first escalation point for issues involving external suppliers.
• Maintain accurate serial pricing in the plant ERP system, including initiating and monitoring price updates throughout the product lifecycle.
