Job Description
Drive workforce development as a Career Counselor with YKDFN. This role blends community outreach, employment initiatives, and career programming to support Indigenous members in achieving sustainable employment outcomes.
Reporting to the Economic Development Director, the Employment & Career Counselor will develop and deliver career programs and facilitate impactful partnerships. Key skills include excellent interpersonal abilities, administration, and career development techniques. You will directly support YKDFN members through individualized counseling and job readiness training.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized employment planning and counseling
• Design and deliver culturally relevant workshops
• Maintain confidential client records and progress notes
• Establish relationships with local employers and agencies
• Plan and coordinate career fairs and recruitment events
