Overview

The opportunity is for a Chemist I to join Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. The position is based in Falconbridge, Greater Sudbury, Ontario. This is a full-time, permanent, unionized role. The work location is not accessible by public transportation. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; early applications are encouraged.

Duties and Accountabilities

The Chemist I prepares samples, sets up equipment, calibrates methods, and operates analytical instruments and apparatus to supply vital process control data for Smelter and Mill Operations and Metal Balances. Reported results directly affect Smelter Electric Furnace flux additions and safe Electric Furnace block changes. The Chemist I records, calculates, summarizes, and reports analytical results to the Smelter CCR via PI entry, flagging results outside of typical ranges.
