Chief Officer WE ARE HIRING: Chief Officer Main Responsibilities As the head of the Deck Department, your primary duties will include: Safety & Navigation: Compliance with safe working practices and ensuring safe navigation during watchkeeping. Operations: Safe and efficient cargo operations, comprehensive documentation, and general planning of deck maintenance and deck department operations. Authority: Issue and enforcement of appropriate permits to work. Ship Stability: Management of ship's stress and stability. Resource Management: Environmental management, ballast management, and garbage management. Crew Management: Overlooking crew training and development, the crew appraisal process, crew welfare, and the crew disciplinary process. Monitoring: Monitoring fresh water supply, quality, consumption, and storage.
