Child Youth Worker

CHILD YOUTH WORKER About the Role Child Youth Workers (CYW) shall have the personality, ability, and temperament necessary to interact with supported children and youth with behavioural problems and compulsive behaviours, in a manner that will respect and maintain the persons’ spirit, dignity and individuality.

It is the responsibility of the CYW to encourage and empower the youth they support to be as independent as possible and to reach their fullest potential while maintaining community standards of care, health and safety.

Core Responsibilities To assist persons with intellectual impairment and learning disabilities, behavioural problems, and compulsive behaviours To implement behavioural interventionalist strategies Seeking candidates with a Trauma Informed approach, demonstrating sensitivity to trauma's impact, utilizing stress-regulation tools, and supporting system change to reduce re-traumatization.
