Job Description
The Wall Street Journal is seeking a seasoned journalist to cover China, the world's second-largest economy and a rising geopolitical rival to the U.S. China is in the midst of great transformation, converting decades of economic strength into geopolitical might. Beijing is increasingly willing to throw its weight around on the global stage, and has shown its ability to lead the world in artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, semiconductors and other future technologies.

Meanwhile, Xi Jinping, the country’s strongest leader since the 1980s, is steadily consolidating his power. Having overseen waves of purges that have reached even his top generals, he looks set to rule indefinitely.
