Climate and Gender Consultant

Project Context and Scope The Climate Mobility Innovation Lab (CMIL), hosted by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), was established to address the nexus between human mobility and climate change, and the challenges this intersection presents. The Lab aims to be at the forefront of fostering innovation and partnerships to address the complex challenges posed by climate change and human mobility in Africa.   Climate change affects communities in multiple ways and the burdens of this is often felt differently across genders, in particular with regards to vulnerable populations. Moreover, the consequences of climate change has a gendered dimension that remains poorly understood. As a result, the solutions developed for communities to adapt to climate change should be inclusive of this dimension to achieve equal and inclusive results for all.
