ARB Electrical Wholesalers was founded in 1980 in Richards Bay, South Africa, by Alan Ronald Burke. From a single shipping container operation, it has grown into one of Southern Africa's largest electrical distributors with a national footprint. 

With a workforce of more than 650 employees and 23 branches spanning all nine provinces—alongside a fully operational online store—ARB delivers an extensive selection of internationally accredited and SABS-approved products. These offerings are grouped into four core categories:
