CNC Programmer/Operator

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible to safely and efficiently produce machined parts by means of programming, using Mastercam and/or Fusion, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

A Programmer/Operator’s core objective is to ensure CNC machines are properly utilized through optimizing programs and daily production runs using the approved design and engineering.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Plan machines by carefully studying work orders, drawings and other technical data.

Program CNC by entering the instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

Feed mechanism to be loaded by lifting stock into position.
