CNC Technician

Overview

• Analyse drawings, sketches and design data to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, machine speeds and feed rates.
• Prepare CNC programming with CAD/CAM software, monitoring CNC programs and ensure accuracy of all instructions through comparison with drawing and design.
• Set CNC programs for new products and determine new fixtures for manufacturing.
• Able to determine correct cutting tools in order to reduce machining times, remove additional operations, improve surface finishing and enhance accuracy levels.
• Create and compile necessary documents to aid setting up of CNC machines, including instruction sheets on cutter tools setup.

Safety and Compliance

Establish or review safety work procedures to ensure all work performed complies with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines.
