Communications and Engagement Advisor

Rate: $57 per hour + super
Contract: Early March - late May 2026
Hours: Part time (3 days per week)
Location: Local Council in Melbourne’s West
Work Model: Hybrid
  
We are seeking an experienced Communications & Engagement Advisor for a temporary contract with a local council in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
This role requires Victorian local government experience.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic communications support to internal departments, including preparing communications plans and deliverables
• Research, write and assist with production of corporate publications
• Support media liaison activities, including drafting responses, alerts and releases, and coordinating photo opportunities
• Prepare speeches as required
• Plan and deliver communications for special projects
