Overview

United for Literacy is a national charity that provides local learning support programs to help students and families succeed in school. This role, based in Preston Township, Nova Scotia, is responsible for the delivery and development of inclusive literacy initiatives and the fostering of community partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Identify learning and support gaps in the community for students and families with the greatest barriers.
• Collaborate with parents, schools, the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, and community organizations to understand needs and develop complementary programs.
• Plan, deliver, and evaluate student success and family literacy programs that address gaps in reading, writing, math, financial literacy, and digital literacy.
