Community Occupational Therapist (Nelson)

Job Summary

Community Occupational Therapist – Permanent, full‑time (80hrs/fortnight) at Nelson Hospital, Nelson.

About the Role

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with a strong interest in working in the community (direct experience preferred). Experience working in a rehab setting will be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Strong clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence-informed practice.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within the inter‑disciplinary team.
• Strong prioritisation skills and experience with complex discharge planning.
• Provide clinical oversight and appropriate delegation to kaiāwhina.
• Supervise and train Occupational Therapy students, providing mentoring and support when necessary.
• Work 80 hours per week (1.0FTE), Monday to Friday.
• Complex Housing and Level 1 Wheelchair Enable accreditation are welcome, but not essential.
