Conservation Consultant

Position Summary
We are seeking a Built Heritage Conservation Architect/Engineer with strong technical expertise and a sensitivity to historic fabric to support the investigation, assessment, and conservation of heritage and existing buildings. The role bridges engineering, building science, and heritage conservation, focusing on understanding traditional construction, material behaviour, and long-term performance of historic structures.
Key Responsibilities
Building Investigation & Diagnostics
Plan and undertake condition surveys, defect investigations, and structural assessments of historic buildings
Apply non-destructive and minimally invasive testing techniques
Diagnose deterioration mechanisms related to materials, moisture, environment, and use
Interpret historic construction systems and load paths
Engineering Assessment & Conservation Strategy
Assess structural safety, serviceability, and durability of historic buildings
