Construction Quality Explosive Environment Inspector

Purpose

The Construction Quality Explosive Environment Inspector will oversee the construction phase of an FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) unit at a shipyard, ensuring that all equipment, structures, and installations comply with safety standards for explosive environments (ATEX/IECEx) and that proper measures are in place to prevent hazards related to potential explosive atmospheres.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for all construction activities within explosive environments (classified areas) of the FPSO being conducted according to industry safety standards (e.g., ATEX, IECEx, NEC), project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• You inspect and assess all hazardous area zones during construction to ensure that appropriate classifications, protective measures, and equipment are installed in compliance with safety standards for explosive environments.
