Purpose of the Consultancy

The aim of this assignment is to provide support to the development of a comprehensive index for measurement of women's health and development status in Low- and Middle-income countries to be piloted in Pakistan at federal and provincial levels.

Background

Women and girls comprise roughly half of Pakistan's population but face persistent challenges in the society. Factually, sustainable development and inclusive growth hinge on the full participation and empowerment of women. Existing frameworks for measuring women's health focus predominantly on biomedical outcomes without integrating the multidimensional nature of women's health determinants like socio-economic, environmental factors, harmful practices and gender-based violence which uniquely and disproportionately affect women intergenerationally at global and local levels.
