Consultant - Decommissioning and Remediation

Provide technical expertise to the Decommissioning and Remediation Unit.

Functions / Key Results Expected

• Provide technical input on the development of a position paper on in-situ disposal / entombment.
• Provide technical expertise related to national TC projects on decommissioning – organize workshops, expert missions, scientific visits and fellowships in accordance with projects' workplans.
• Contribute to development of services on safety of the nuclear back-end to assist embarking countries.
• Contribute to development of practical guidance on decommissioning of novel types of facilities (SMRs, fusion).
• Contribute to the revision of the Safety Guide WS-G-5.2 Safety Assessment for the Decommissioning of Facilities Using Radioactive Material.
• Provide technical expertise related to activities on safety of decommissioning as necessary – Safety Standards, peer reviews, eLearning materials, international conferences.
