About the Role
Whangarei Hospital is a 250 bedded District General Hospital with all the major specialities including ICU. We are a 5.5FTE department made up of New Zealanders and Brits. The post will be based at Whangarei Hospital, but we provide a service to older people across the whole of Northland (Te Tai Tokerau). This is 12,600km2 in area with a population of 170,000 in an interesting mix of urban and rural settings. In addition to the main base hospital, we provide a specialist visiting service to our three rural community hospitals.
Back in 2020 we had a significant service re-design and now deliver an acute frailty service. We have a 10-12 bedded Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) Unit looking after patients with acute medical problems...
