CONTRACT SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the NAVAL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. Responsibilities You will provide contracting support to designated programs/projects. You will prepare and/or demonstrate proficiency in the following elements with some assistance: Contract structure, Contract types selection, market research, exercising an option, request for proposal and the change clause. You will understand the pricing of commercial items, types of appropriations, justification and approvals, acquisitions plans, and basic ordering agreement orders. You will prepare a variety of official materials.
